Our original workshops that we’ve been teaching since 2012, a Fermenters Club® Hands-on workshop is an immersive experience. Each class focuses on a specific fermented food tradition. We teach you about food fermentation, and you get to sample various flavors of fermented foods. Then we’ll show you how to make it, and then we all make a batch together. You walk away with new knowledge and appreciation, as well as a jar or bottle to ferment at home! Most classes are offered in the San Diego, California area, but occasionally we hit the road!

Workshops are taught by experts who have been fermenting food for years. A typical workshop focuses on a particular style or ingredient. Pickles, fermented veggies, kimchi, miso, and kombucha are just some examples.

In a DIY Hands-on workshop, you not only take away all you learned, but you also get to take a jar of what you made together in class home to ferment. You even earn an embroidered patch with each class you master!
