Cannabis Simple Syrup

Makes 2 cups/500 ml

Ingredients

  • 300 g (12 fl. oz or 375ml) raw, organic sugar
  • 375 ml (12 fl. oz) filtered water
  • 23 ml 1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. vegetable glycerin
  • 13 g cannabis trim assumes 3% THC potency, for 10mg THC per 8 oz. of finished kombucha

Instructions
 

Decarboxylate Cannabis

  • Preheat oven to 225°F/108°C.
  • Spread cannabis on an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Break into small nuggets or roughly chop.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let cool.

Create simple syrup

  • Boil water in a saucepot. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Add decarboxylated cannabis to the pot and stir gently.
  • Cover and reduce heat. Let simmer 30 minutes.
  • Stir in vegetable glycerin. Reduce heat to low and cook 10 minutes.
  • Turn off heat and let mixture cool.
  • Strain mixture through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag suspended over a mixing bowl. Let sit for about 30 minutes to drain.
  • Squeeze the solids to extract every last drop of syrup.
  • Store syrup in a tightly sealed glass container in the refrigerator OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Lasts up to 3 months.
